Sourdough Bread Bowl With Bacon, Cheese & Tomato

This bread bowl is so easy to make and a very tasty snack to have and share with your family or friends. The melted cheese covers the sour cream, bacon and tomato filling that lies just below the surface and fills the bowl. Straight out of the oven, the sourdough loaf is beautifully crispy and crunchy. Once you have finished off the filling with the toasted dipping slices, you can then cut the loaf and start to eat that as well. Once you start eating it, you can’t stop and there won’t be much conversation going on as everyone will be too focused on getting their share of this fabulous snack.

Ingredients:
• 1 loaf Sourdough Bread
• 1 1/2 cups Sour Cream
• 1/2 Red Onion
• 4 slices Bacon, cubed
• Butter, to spread
• 1 cup Shredded Cheese, I use 3 cheese mix
• 1/2 tsp Pepper
• 2 Roma Tomatoes, diced
• 1 Spring Onion, thinly sliced

Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 250˚C.
2. Cook bacon and onion in a small pan.
3. Mix fried onion, bacon, sour cream, diced tomatoes and pepper in a bowl.
4. Cut off the top of the sourdough loaf and remove the inside with a spoon. Try to remove the inside as one piece.
5. Fill the bread with the sour cream mix and spread evenly.
6. Cover the mixture with the shredded cheese.
7. Spread butter on the leftover bread and cut into thick slices.
8. Place the bread bowl and the bread slices together onto a baking tray. Place in oven and bake for 15 minutes or until the bread is crispy and the cheese golden brown.
9. Remove from onion and sprinkle top with spring onion.
