Can someone tell me how I should prepare a batch of pasta given the ingredients I have available?

We're skipping the grocery store and just working on using up what's in the pantry. I'm looking to make a big batch of pasta but every time I've tried in the past it's been bland; I'm a terrible cook in general.


Base Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs Penne
  • Several cans of Tomato Sauce
  • Ground Beef

Spices

  • Garlic (minced/powder/salt)
  • Salt/Pepper
  • White Pepper
  • Onion Powder
  • Raw Ginger
  • Chili Powder
  • Basil
  • Oregano
  • Parsley
  • Cumin

Cheeses

  • Shredded Parmesan
  • Shredded Mozzarella
  • Block Parmigiano Reggiano
