Homemade Snickerdoodles

  • Ingredients
  • 1/2 C Butter
  • 1/2 C Shortening
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 1/2 C Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 2 1/2 C Flour
  • 2 tsp Cream of Tartar
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • Pinch of Salt
  • Cinnamon Sugar Mixture
  • 1/4 C Sugar
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • Instructions
  • 1. Cream together butter, shortening, eggs, vanilla, and sugar.
  • 2. To the creamed mixture add cream of tartar, baking soda, salt and flour (Add flour 1 cup at at time)
  • 3. Chill cookie dough in refrigerator for 2 to 24 hours
  • 4. Once dough has chilled make cinnamon and sugar mixture
  • 5. Preheat oven to 375 °
  • 6. Using a 1" cookie scoop, scoop cookie dough into hands and roll into balls
  • 7. Roll balls in cinnamon and sugar mixture
  • 8. Place balls onto parchment lined cookie sheet 2" apart
  • 9. The cookies will spread be sure they have enough room
  • 10. Bake at 375° for 12 to 15 minutes
