I just made this Cheese+Chicken+Rice stew-thing, and I'd like some ideas on how to make it better please!

So, I'm not much of a cook, but I took some leftover things and made a bigger thing out of them. It (to my genuine surprise) tasted quite good actually; but I'm thinking I can make it taste even better, so... thoughts? (Sorry for the bare-bones look of this, I don't really follow recipes exactly to be honest. I just kinda throw together whatever I think might taste good together and if it does, cool; If not, instant noodle time!)

Ingredients

  • Milk
  • Cheese (I just used generic sliced cheese)
  • Butter/Oil (I used both)
  • Onions
  • Garlic
  • Chicken
  • An apple (Or half of it)
  • A sweet biscuit (I get these locally. They have a sweet, buttery flavour and are extremely crumbly)
  • Rice

Directions (Sorta)

Sauce

  1. Boil milk
  2. Add cheese - stir
  3. Add butter - stir
  4. Add chopped onions, garlic and chicken - keep stirring. Done when chicken is almost cooked.

  5. Fry onions in Butter+oil in another pan.

  6. Add LOTS of garlic, half an apple thinly sliced and a crumbled sweet biscuit to this. Make 'em crisp.

Cool a little - add milk mixture to the onion-apple mix - keep stirring.

Bring up the heat and Keep. On. Stirring.

Add water - add rice - simmer/cook/something until rice is done.

And that's it! All I needed after this was some coffee and a good book. Would appreciate suggestion on how I could improve this!

(And if this is the wrong sub, I'm sorry about that. I'm not really familiar with the cooking side of reddit. I'll delete the post if it violates the rules mods! I also couldn't figure out which flair would be appropriate so I just left it at that.)

bon appetit
