A love story: Fell in love with a meal, soon after, the chef/owner of 30 years retired and closed down, and left me longing. It was a Thai restaurant.
It's a spicy blackened chicken type dish:
#39: "GUY GA TIEM" Chicken, garlic, black pepper, sesame oil
Here's a picture: http://ift.tt/1XFpsFW
Anybody know what the specs of spice are in the picture? I imagine they're red pepper flakes/powder/something?? He had a spice scale of 1 to 10, I went with 5.
The restaurant had 3 spices at the table, one of them was a dry spice, I think that was it :O The veggies were still crunchy too, everything about it is delicious & unique, and it keeps me up at night :O
Any idea on how to prepare the chicken like that too? It wasn't stringy, it was small, chopped, and had a char on it, not sure what the blackening season was, any guesses? It's a spicy dish, not sweet.
Helppp meeeeee! :) Thanks.
bon appetit
