Individual Cast Iron Skillet Apple Crumbles

An easy to prepare, gluten free, reduced fat and sugar recipe for a comforting individual apple crisps
Prep Time:30 min Total Time:1 hr
Ingredients
- 4 apples, I used Golden Delicious but I might mix some Macintosh with the Golden Delicious next time
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp nutmeg
For the Crumble
- 2/3 cup rolled oats
- 4 TB brown sugar
- 6 TB oat flour (or regular flour if o.k. with the gluten)
- 5 TB butter, cut into small pieces
- Pinch of salt
- 1/4 cups chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350'
- Cut and peel apples into small pieces and toss with the cinnamon and nutmeg in a bowl. Set aside.
- Combine oats, brown sugar, oat flour and salt. Using your fingers, massage the butter into your oat mixture
- Divide the chopped apples among your 4 skillets or ramekins
- Sprinkle topping equally over the 4 skillets
- Bake at 35-45 minutes or until apples are soft and topping is brown.
