Gingerbread Syrup

Gingerbread Syrup

Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 TB Molasses
  • 1 stick of cinnamon
  • 1/2-1 TB grated ginger (depending on how gingery you want it)
  • 1 tsp whole black peppercorn
  • 1/2 tsp whole cloves
  • 1/2 tsp whole allspice
  • 1/4 tsp nutmet

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients in saucepan
  • Heat over medium heat, stirring
  • Bring to a slow boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 1/2 hour
  • Cool syrup
  • Pour syrup through a fine mesh
  • Store in a bottle in the refrigerator and use within one month
