CHA CA (VIETNAMESE GRILLED FISH)

Cha Ca is a famous dish of Viet Nam. Cha Ca is usually serve with rice, it is also a main ingredient of Bun Cha Ca. This is a simple recipe to have a delicious Cha Ca.

Ingredients

  • 500 grams of fresh fish fillet (mackerel, featherback…).

  • 1 cup of chopped green onion.

  • ½ cup of minced shallots.

  • ½ cup of minced garlic.

  • Fish sauce, pepper.

Directions

  • Step 1: Prepare elastic Fish fillet

In a mixing bowl, add fish fillet, shallots, garlic, onion, pepper, desired fish sauce in and mix well. After that, pour in a grinder then turn on to puree them until fish become rather thick and elastic (If you don’t have grinder, you can use mortar and powder to make fish become thick and elastic)...

  • Step 2: Shape Cha Ca

Pinch a small piece of elastic fish fillet make it into round ball, press down to shape it into a circle.

  • Step 3: Fry Cha Ca

Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan, add Cha Ca into and fry until Cha Ca are fully cooked and get brown color.
