Creamed Spinach - 20 Min. Recipe

If you have 20 minutes, you can enjoy this creamed spinach as a side at your next meal.

Ingredients:

  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 medium onion, minced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 16 ounces spinach
  • 1 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoons ground pepper

Directions:

  1. In a large pot over medium heat, begin to melt the butter.
  2. Sauté the onion and garlic for 1 minute.
  3. Add the flour, nutmeg, and half of the milk (3/4 cup), whisk until combined.
  4. Pour in the remaining milk (3/4 cup) and whisk all ingredients together.
  5. Toss in spinach and cover pot with lid and simmer for 5 minutes.
  6. Sprinkle in the salt and black pepper.
  7. Continue to cover and simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
