Delicious healthy morning oatmeal

For all you people looking to kick off the year with some healthy recipes, I have an easy one for you. It just requires a few uncommon ingredients!

Per serving, you will need: 1/2 cup dry old fashion oats 1 cup water 1-2 Tablespoons ground flaxseed 1/2-1 teaspoon maple agave nectar

Boil water and stir in oats. Reduce heat to a meadium-high temp and let water reduce to 25%. Next add in ground flax and let water reduce to your preferred liking. Finally add in your agave nectar for sweetness as well as any fruit which you like!

The product has a strong maple flavor but agave nectar is a much lower glycemic carbohydrate and will not cause an immediate spike in insulin, thus healthier for the body to use it as a lasting energy source with minimal fat storage. Flax seed is full of omega fatty acids which are great for the heart, brain and inflammatory system. Oats of course are a great carb source, sure to give lasting energy throughout your morning!

Enjoy with a glass of milk or almond milk for extra protein!
