Mexican Horchata is a light and refreshing drink made from rice, water, cinnamon, and sugar - Enjoy!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup white rice
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 8 cups water
Directions:
- In a blender, combine the white rice and 6 cups of water, toss in the cinnamon stick.
- Blend for 5 minutes, and let the mixture soak for at least 3 hours.
- In a bowl, pour the remaining 2 cups of water and add the sugar.
- Pour in the rice water mixture and whisk together.
- Use a strainer or cheesecloth to filter the horchata into a jug or pitcher.
- Refrigerate and serve over ice when ready.
- Garnish with ground cinnamon for some added flavor.
