[Request] Corned beef - Curing your own brisket. I am so frustrated.

I have a roughly 12 lb brisket that I intend to cure for corned beef. I'm having alot of difficulty finding any consistency between curing recipes besides that salt, water, and salt peter are involved. Can anyone please recommend a cure/brine that maybe they have tried before? I already have plans for the cooking portion, it's the cure that is giving me trouble.
