The secrets to making great guacamole

Recipe source (w/ photos): http://ift.tt/1UGHg3c

Making great guacamole is easier than you think! Just don't overdo it with ingredients and seasonings - let the beautiful flavor of those avocados shine through. If you have a molcajete, use it to really unlock the flavors of your ingredients and blend them together.

Ingredients

  • 2 whole, ripe avocados
  • Juice of 1/2 Lime
  • 1/2 diced onion (either red or white - depending on if you want red specs in your guac)
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro (or to taste)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Diced jalapeño to taste. (I find 1/4 of a jalapeño adds a nice kick!)

Directions

  1. Add onion, cilantro, salt and jalapeño to your molcajete or mixing bowl.
  2. Use the tejolete (pestle) or a wooden spoon to grind everything into a fine paste, and then add lime juice.
  3. add the avocados and mash them in with the rest of the ingredients. Use a spoon to help stir, add salt to taste.

How Easy!
