How does this recipe work when it doesn't say to boil anything? HELP!

I'm just about to try this recipe: http://ift.tt/1uTimPl

And I realized it doesn't call for boiling or even high heat. After you brown the kielbasa on medium low, it doesn't say anything about changing the heat or anything like that. How are the potatoes, beans, and kale suppose to cook on medium low?
