Spicy Bacon Green Beans

Enjoy as a delicious side or a quick healthy snack.

Ingredients:

  • 16 ounces green beans, trimmed
  • 4 ounces bacon
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Directions:

  1. Steam or boil the green beans and set aside.
  2. Cook bacon in a skillet and crumble, set aside.
  3. In a skillet, heat the olive oil and add the chopped onions.
  4. Sauté for 7 minutes over medium heat.
  5. Add garlic and red pepper flakes and sauté for 1 minute.
  6. Toss in the cooked green beans, crumbled bacon, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper.
  7. Continue to cook on low for 5 minutes, stirring often. Enjoy!
