Ingredients
Chicken
- 1 lb. boneless thighs, cut up into pieces
- 1 cup of vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. white pepper
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- 2 tsp sesame seeds, roasted.
Sauce
- 2 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp. rice vinegar
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 2 oranges, juiced
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 1 tsp water
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp fish sauce
- 1 tsp honey
- (optional, I like to add dried chili pepper flakes to the sauce)
Cooking
- combine sauce ingredients in a bowl, mix well. set a side. coat chicken pieces in the flour mix and fry in the oil in a large high sided frying pan, cast iron skillet or a wok, until chicken is golden brown.
- take combined sauce ingredients and pour it into a wok. cook sauce in a wok on high heat for a few seconds. once sauce starts to bubble a bit, add in the chicken and mix and toss in the sauce for a minute or two. before serving, roll the chicken in toasted sesame seeds.
